Amarone Case Vecie DOCG 2012
Amarone Case Vecie borrows its name from the homonymous 10 ha-vineyard located in Grezzana - Valpantena. It is a unique vineyard, 450 meters above sea level with a perfect south/easterly exposition. These particular pedoclimatic conditions allow the grapes to undergo a slow and constant ripening, even during the hardest years. The adopted training system is the Guyot, which allows a perfect exposition of the bunches and an optimal vegetative-productive balance. The late harvesting period enables us to put the grapes to rest in a colder
period of the year, undergoing a slower and longer drying process. In this phase, the grapes will develop the distinctive aromas that will then characterize the wine. Amarone Case Vecie is a wine designed to enhance the natural traits of a cold climate vineyard, which remain unaltered thanks to the low temperature-drying process that preserves them.
Corvina 55%, Corvinone 25%, Rondinella 20%
Case Vecie (450 mt a.s.l.)
The grapes are selected in the vineyard and placed in crates. They are then left to dry in the fruit drying loft for several months. The wine is left in contact with the grape skins during fermentation. It is pumped over twice a day with a delestage half way through the fermentation process.
